Winning a Duel

Winning is simple to state and hard to do.

Two ways to end it

  1. Land two attacks. Your opponent has two lives in a round, so two clean hits take it.
  2. Counter after a perfect block. Block at the exact moment their attack arrives and the opening is yours — the counter-attack goes in while they are still recovering.

What that means in practice

Because two hits finish a round, one careless swing can cost you half the duel. Stay out of range until the range is yours, block when you have actually read the attack, and take the counter whenever it is offered.

The mechanics behind each of these live in Attacks & Blocks.
